Varun Mangamoori, a final year student of dual degree program in the Department of Engineering Design, of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras (Chennai), is the topper of CAT 2009. He scored 100 Percentile. He is a native of Hyderabad. He said that he got shortlisted in IIM Ahmadabad but not in IIM Shillong.

He told in a leading daily news paper that he has applied for MS/PhD in Operations Research in foreign universities in USA, which he took as his minor, and is waiting for the results. He also has a job offer from ITC and he is thinking on that too. He also have started preparing for the interview process for the IIMs to begin.
